ADDRESS: Jewish for Good at the Levin Jewish Community Center (JCC) –1937 West Cornwallis Road, Durham, NC 27705
PARKING: We are expecting many swimmers and cars. Visiting team families can park around the JCC building. The Judea Reform and Lerner School parking lot is available for JCC swimmers and overflow parking. Please only park in designated spots. Do not park on the hill on the road into the JCC campus or around the circle turnaround area – the path must be clear for EMS vehicles. Please consider carpooling.
POOL SET UP AND SAFETY: The main pool area will be only for swimmers, coaches, volunteers and people who are actively spectating. The timer area and blocks on the deep end of the pool will be roped off for swimmers, coaches and volunteers only. Although this may impact viewing area, it makes for a safer physical space and one that is focused on the swimmers and volunteers doing what they need to do.
Spectator areas will be in front of the fitness center (stopping at Official's tent with ropes) and tree side of the pool. We will work to maintain a clear corridor for the Clerk of Course and in the case of emergency. During a meet, no one may be in the water other than the swimmers--that’s both the wading area and the main pool. Please help to keep your swimmers from sitting on the edge and putting their feet in.
WHERE TO SIT: The visiting team will have the entire family (wading pool) area. (The JCC family area will be outside the gates on the lawn). The wading pool will not be open. We will have tables and chairs set up, but consider bringing folding chairs for additional seating.
The outdoor, gender-neutral bathrooms will be available for the visiting team. The building interior does have bathrooms/water fountains; however since the gyms and Atrium areas may have programming for (non-swim meet) JCC members, we ask that swim meet participants stay in the pool areas.
SNACK BAR AND FOOD OPTIONS: Please bring any food and water that you and your swimmers will need, however we request that no pork products are brought to the meet. The Snack bar (beside the family pool) will be open until 8pm, with pizza, hot dogs, snacks, drinks, and ice cream. The snack bar takes credit cards and cash.
